OngoingCharles F. Lummis Home (El Alisal) and Garden
Highland Park, CA
Built between 1898 and 1910 the Lummis Home was built by Charles Fletcher Lummis which he said he built "to last a thousand years." In many respects the Lummis Home represents the beginning of the Arts & Crafts aesthetic that was to soon take the architectural world by storm--only to peak with Greene and Greene homes such as the Gamble House. Tours are free.

The Martin House Complex - Frank Lloyd Wright's 1904 masterwork is currently under restoration. All tours of the Complex are docent-led. Call (716)856-3858 for reservations.

Los Angeles, CA
Hollyhock House is Wright's first Los Angeles project. Built between 1919 and 1921, it represents his earliest efforts to develop a regionally appropriate style of architecture for Southern California. Wright himself referred to it as California Romanza, using a musical term meaning "freedom to make one's own form".
OngoingDr. Roy Lanterman House Tour
La Cañada Flintridge, CA
In 1915, Dr. Roy Lanterman commissioned architect A. L. Haley to design a fireproof bungalow of reinforced concrete for his family and the result was a unique architectural treasure. There are many arts and crafts elements in the Lanterman house. It retains its exquisite original interiors and furnishings, including elaborate hand-painted wall and ceiling ornamentation.

The upcoming 2011 Symposium will feature artists Laura Wilder from Rochester, New York and Leon Loughridge from Colorado, who will lecture and demonstrate their respective linoleum and woodblock print techniques. Both Laura and Leon will have samples of their work for sale throughout the evening.

The tour, in its 21st consecutive year, is put on by the Sarasota Alliance for Historic Preservation as its major annual fundraiser. It's a great chance for the public to see the featured homes - inside and out - and to learn their stories. Tickets: $20.00
April 10, 201122nd Annual Bungalow Heaven Home Tour
Eight Craftsman-era homes will be in the tour,including a Living History home. Docents will be available to answer visitors' questions. Demonstrations of restoration techniques and a garden workshop will also be featured.

Each year, on the first Sunday in April, the neighborhood of Old Seminole Heights invites over 1000 people to take an intimate view of some of the most distinguished homes in this tree-shaded Tampa neighborhood. Typically attracting over 1500 visitors, the Old Seminole Heights Annual Home Tour is among the most popular and well-attended home tours.
