Bennett Homes1920 Bungalows -- Better Built & Ready Cut![]() Bennett Homes were manufactured in North Tonawanda, New York. Like the other kit home manufacturers, Bennett sought a part of the lucrative small home market. Progressive social ideals, available land, and optimistic prospects wooed potential homeowners across the US. Though WWI dampened the market somewhat, people were able to buy homes in part because of the ease of construction afforded by the kit home builders. Each home was delivered by freight car to the local train depot where the homeowner could pick it up and take it to the job site where a foundation was ready and waiting. In a matter of months, the proud homeowner was able to move in and enjoy the great American dream of homeownership.
